Game Day
cup-reuben.pngTimes

On game days you will be required at the fields a minimum of 45 mins before kickoff. This time is used to ensure all children are warmed up, have stretched and are mentally prepared for their game so they can gain the full benefit of the time they have on the field.

What to bring

Please ensure your child is dressed in their PPSC shorts, socks and training shirt with shin pads and a bottle of water. On warmer days we recommend two bottles of water as one can be used for re-hydration after the game.

cup-tyson.pngWhat is expected

Game day is exactly that, game day. This is the time when the children are free to play the game they love. They are allowed to express themselves freely and put into action all the skills they have been practicing throughout the week. We ask that you allow the coach to run the team uninterrupted on game day while you enjoy watching your child play freely as they wish.

Game Day = Kids Day.

We encourage you to support your child in all aspects of the game and cheering from the sideline is a great way to express that encouragement to them. However, we as a club have put in place policies and rules that require you to refrain from any instruction to your child on how to play the game and we also insist that you refrain from abusing your child verbally or in any other manner before, during or after the game. Any breach of your code of conduct agreement signed at the beginning of the season will be dealt with seriously and if problems persist you may be asked to leave the club. If you witness any behaviour from a parent, coach or other PPSC member or guest we urge you to make it known to the management committee as soon as possible.

yellow_card.jpgOfficials

Many of our officials are young and still learning their craft, these are often children of our members and should be respected and honoured in their respective positions. It is not your role to educate our referees, if you have a problem with a decision you can bring it up calmly with the referee at the conclusion of the game and if you are still not satisfied you may discuss it with our Referee Coordinator or file an official complaint.

anger-management.pngConflict resolution

If for any reason you are not happy with the way your child’s coach, manager or team coordinator is performing or conducting themselves, please try to deal with this issue within your team and remind all parties of the club's motto and core values. Our coaches and other team helpers are volunteers and we value them highly. However, if a coach or helper is not conducting themselves in a manner that reflects the club's motto and core values and you are unsuccessful in resolving the matter privately, we urge you to make the issue known to a management committee member so the matter can be resolved with a minimum of fuss and little interruption to your child’s team.
